Fluttering of the cusps of the aortic valve is an abnormal motion of the cusps, it occurs often in diastole and it is usually associated with flail cusps. Systolic fluttering of the aortic cusps is a less frequent phenomenon, and limited data are found in the literature to explain the mechanism of this echocardiographical feature.
