A new Ni(II) complex as a novel and efficient recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidines

KhashiA simple and highly efficient one-pot three-component synthesis of a series of pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines from the condensation of barbituric acid, malononitrile and aromatic aldehydes using catalytic amount of a new Ni(II) complex based on 5-nitro-N1-((pyridin-2-yl)methylene) benzene-1,2-diamine (NiL) is reported. This new heterogeneous catalyst has the advantages of being environmentally friendly, simple work-up and high yields character.
