    Cerebral Venous Thrombosis and COVID-19: Review of Clinical Profile and Management Options

    Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT) is considered a serious form of cerebrovascular disease that causes occlusion of the cerebral venous system. COVID-19, a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), can present with different clinical manifestations, ranging from asymptomatic carrier state to severe respiratory distress, multiple organ dysfunction, and death. Furthermore, patients with COVID-19 may have multiple neurological manifestations that can lead to either arterial or venous thrombosis. Multiple studies investigating the pathophysiology of COVID- 19-associated coagulopathy provide insights that can direct appropriate interventional strategies.
